Saturday was the celebration of the grapes and the festival in Montmartre was bigger than ever. We arrived after breakfast and once we were finished shopping at our favourite whimsical boutique in Montmartre, Pylones, we went up the funicular to where all the tents were set up.
The first place we always go to visit are the Champagne people where we buy a bottle of Champagne and glasses for each of us, then we go around to visit all the artists. Great fun! Then for lunch we went to Chez La Mère Catherine. The moules frites were delicious.
Next we visited all the tents and sampled cheese, wine, liquors, fruit and nuts...it was a whole afternoon of festivities. There were many performers around and we saw a lady disappear into a barrel, then change clothes, and come out with a different look! Amazing.
